Planning & Local Authority related issues
Presenting a well reasoned argument to the local authority requires a good understanding of their legislative frameworks and obligations. Our experience from working within an Environmental Health Department will ensure that our response on your behalf will meet their requirements.
Trade / Industrial Premises
Undertake baseline noise measurements or the calculation of industrial noise impacts in accordance with BS 4142, to recommend measures to minimise noise impacts.
Construction work
This is inherently noisy work, however the adoption of a correct action plan from the start will minimise the noise impacts. We are able to liaise with local authorities and construction engineers in order to minimise the noise impacts through careful programming, equipment selection and the choice of construction methods. This may involve pre-construction noise monitoring and COPA section 61 agreements.
Leisure Industry
The leisure industry consists of a wide range of activities where noise may be an integral part its attraction i.e. motor sports, clay pigeon shooting and music festivals. Through following the correct approach these problems can be minimised. Acoustek are able to provide noise surveys in accordance with specific "Codes of Practice". This may assist with planning applications or even prevent noise abatement notices.
Occupational Noise and Vibration Assessments
Undertake a comprehensive assessment in accordance with the regulations. Our reports will be clear, concise and will contain a non technical summary for clear understanding on what is required of the client. Since the 1st of April 2008 the noise produced from the entertainment sector has been included into the Control Of Noise at Work regulations 2005, therefore both employers and employees should be aware of the changes involved.
Liaison
Most importantly from our experience as enforcement officers from within an Environmental Health Detpartment, we are effective at negotiating and liaising with various local government agencies . Through constructive consultations we aim to avoid unwanted and unnecessary enforcement action, saving you time and more importantly money.
